WISA-Spruce Plywood
WISA-Spruce is Nordic spruce plywood built for structural work. Roofing, flooring, wall sheathing, and anything else where lightness and strength matter more than a perfect face. It's roughly half the weight of particleboard or OSB at similar thicknesses, which you feel the first time you carry a full sheet. I used it for the interior of the off-grid cabin my family is building, and it's my default for shop projects where I'd rather spend my wood budget on the things people actually see. The face has a livelier, more industrial look than birch. If that's the aesthetic you want, you can leave it exposed. Otherwise it paints beautifully. Unlike birch, spruce plywood has better natural biological durability thanks to the closed cell structure of the wood, which is part of why it holds up so well in construction use.
